Attorney
Law Offices of Mark C. Mackie, July, 1999-Present, Flower Mound, Texas. Associate Attorney, South Texas Law Firm, 1995-1999.


Areas of concentration: general commercial litigation with an emphasis on business formation, construction law and collections. Also managed a large Ear, Nose and Throat medical practice for three years including overseeing billing and collections, all nursing and medical employees, physician recruitment, as well as the physicians’ extensive real estate portfolio. These latter activities included oversight of the construction, sale, and lease of medical and other commercial office space for the practice.

Chief Counsel
Committee on Rules and Administration, U.S. Senate, Washington, D.C., April, 1994-November 1995. Minority Counsel, 1989-1995.
Election law counsel to Committee members, including the financing of Senate and Presidential elections, contested elections, and the credentialing of Senators. Responsible for Senate commercial contracts, personnel policies, litigation oversight. Advised Committee members and the Senate on rules governing Senate procedure. Responsible for legislation arising in the Senate including banking, securities, insurance, bankruptcy, immigration, international trade, and criminal law. Assist individuals and corporations on matters before various federal regulatory authorities.

International Trade counsel for the Congressman on matters before the House Ways and Means Committee, a Committee with primary jurisdiction over international trade. Other major legislative responsibilities: general economic and business issues, federal budgetary rules and policy, banking, securities, insurance, product liability, bankruptcy, agriculture, defense policy, and foreign affairs.
